Vitamin C & Oxygen

Although we were very interested in the RGCC testing, it is just not affordable right now. Intravenous vitamin C and Ozone therapies are not measured with the testing, but we have done enough research to know that they could be beneficial to fighting cancer cells and we thought it was a smarter decision to opt for some treatments versus just the test without any treatment.

Most of us know that vitamin C is good for us and our immune systems and is an antioxidant. I can even remember taking it to help from getting sick when I was a kid. We have learned that not only does it boost our immune system but also most of the other systems. However, vitamin C is not something our bodies can make on its own and needs to rely on other sources. Immediately oranges come to mind, but just one orange only has about 150mg of vitamin C and taking too much orally can also upset your bowels. Taking it orally does not attack/kill the cancer cells, but still improves the immune system so that it can fight off cancer.

Intravenous vitamin C doses are usually a high dose of 50g or more. This high dosage generates hydrogen peroxide which is a pro-oxidative at higher doses which do kill cancer cells. The intravenous allows for bypassing the upset stomach effect on your body because it is circulated through your blood first. The recommendation was to have this done twice a week and the ozone once a week.

Ozone therapy is very interesting and different from the way it is used in the dental office. First, your blood is drained into the IV bag, then Ozone (O3) is injected into the bag and transfused back into the body. This helps the body utilize cellular oxygen to activate the immune system. Allowing the body to renew and regenerate, basically healing itself.

Todd had another G6PD test done, to make sure he did not have a vitamin C deficiency. On January 29th, he had his first session of IV vitamin C, a lower dose of 25g to start with, btw this is about a 3-hour process. Then we had to figure out how often we could afford to do it because twice a week was not an option, that would have cost us over $500 each week!

The following week it was decided that we would try to do one a week with the vitamin C along with the Ozone which was still over $300, I don’t know about you but that’s not something we have laying around especially not now. He tolerated the treatment well, just felt a little tired for a couple of days. We were only able to keep this regimen up for 5 weeks.

Not knowing when we would be able to pick back up on the treatments, or what our next move would be, I came across liposomal vitamin C. Like the IV vitamin C, it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream because liposomes are encapsulated, fat-soluble and are able to pass through the digestive barrier. Unlike IV vitamin C, the liposomal is able to penetrate the cell membrane. This makes for a great alternative to IV vitamin C and has cut the cost by more than half! An excellent way to get the power of the IV with an oral approach for less money and less time. Obviously, if we could afford it, we would probably be doing both methods.

It is estimated that 6g of the liposomal is equivalent to 50g of the intravenous. However, it is suggested for advanced disease to take at least 8g daily. Todd is using the Lipo Naturals brand that is formulated from sunflowers rather than the soy. We are not anti-soy but thought that with all the controversy around it and the amount being taken, that the sunflower made for a better choice.

I also came across a compromise for ozone therapy. OXY E is a cellular oxygen enhancer that can work to create oxygen inside the cells. It is a PH balancing, alkalizing formula. Very easy to use, by adding drops to drinking water. Another plus as a time and money saver! But again, if we could afford the Ozone therapy treatments we would be doing them as well.

I truly believe things happen for a reason, do you think it was a coincidence that I came across the alternatives for the treatments we could no longer afford at the precise time I needed them? I don’t! Some days I have to remember that we are guided by a higher power to the things we need. I think often we let those things pass us by and we’ll never know the difference. And sometimes things happen and we don’t know why, but there is always a reason.

The best thing was when we saw the doctor last week and she agreed that these were good alternatives 🙂 what a wonderfully reassuring feeling!
